About Nephos

NEF-oss · from the Greek νέφος, “cloud”

“Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us… run with patience the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1

Nephos takes its name from the Greek word for cloud — the “cloud of witnesses” that Scripture says surrounds us. The saints who have gone before are not gone. They have walked the way ahead of us, and their words still point toward God.

What it is

Nephos is a quiet place to meet the Fathers in the in-between moment. Instead of scrolling into the noise — waiting in line, restless at night, filling an empty minute — you can open Nephos and find a single word from the saints. Swipe, and let them speak. Keep the ones that stay with you.

It draws on the whole Christian tradition, East and West: the desert fathers and the great mystics, Chrysostom and Augustine, Isaac the Syrian and Teresa of Ávila, and the ancient prayers the Church has always prayed. Every saying is attributed. Every saying is sourced. In an age of misquoted wisdom, that matters.

Who it’s for

Whether you’re Catholic, Orthodox, or Eastern Catholic, Nephos meets you where you are — you choose whose saints you’d like to walk with, and the early Fathers of the undivided Church belong to everyone. It asks nothing of you: no account, no noise, no endless feed engineered to keep you scrolling. Just the cloud of witnesses, always at hand.
